AILET 2021 Exam Analysis

AILET 2021 Exam Analysis

AILET 2021 Sectionwise analysis

1. English:

1 Readable RC passage with 5 questions but a few options need careful thinking. Vocabulary heavy with odd one out, analogies, sentence completion, idiomatic usage and contextual vocabulary. Grammar questions could have been answered through observation and careful elimination. There was 1 Punctuation based question. Match the following type of questions were missing. The trend of close options continues.

2. General Knowledge:

This section was very much on expected lines, with a lot of focus on Current Affairs. Current affairs questions
were mostly straightforward. Questions from Polity & Govt and International Affairs were more dominant.
ALPians who have been following news and attempting mocks regularly would have found this section easy.
Overall a Moderate section.

3. Legal Aptitude:

The legal aptitude section came as a pleasant surprise with the lengthy questions having multiple principles in
earlier years, missing. Nevertheless, this section was time-consuming with 26 legal reasoning questions out of
which 6 were based on Torts, 12 on Contracts and 8 on Criminal Law. Most of these are questions on familiar
topics. There were only 9 Legal GK questions with half of them based on current events. ALPians who have
regularly attempted AILET mocks would have comfortably attempted this section. Overall a Moderate section.

4. Reasoning:

As a change from the last few years, this year’s paper was heavy on Critical Reasoning (CR), with only around 12
Analytical questions. However, the CR questions were quite straightforward, from Assumptions, Conclusions,
Strong & Weak Arguments etc. The para based questions were slightly time-consuming. Questions from the AR
were also from the usual topics like Directions, Puzzles, Series, Analogies. Overall ALPians found this section Easy
to Moderate.

5. Mathematics:

The Mathematics section was on expected lines, given that it is always of a moderate level in AILET. Questions were from the usual topics like Percentages, Average, Time & Work etc. Some of the questions were time-consuming. Overall a Moderate section.
