1. Overview

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is one of the renowned university started by the Govt. of Gujarat under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 .It invites Judges of the Supreme Court as well as High Courts to teach the students, as it is one of the National Law University.  GNLU is an academic partner of many of the governing, judiciary and executive institutions in providing training to experts from India and abroad.

2. Courses Offered

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagaroffersundergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level law programs to candidates. Courses offered at GNLU (GNLU) include – Diploma in Internet Law & Policy, Diploma in Intellectual Property: Law and Management, Diploma Program in Advanced Entrepreneurship Management and Corporate Laws, Diploma in Sports Law, Certificate Program in Contract Drafting and Certificate Program in Legislative Drafting.

2.1 For B.A, LL.B (Hons.)

Candidates can secure admission in courses offered GNLU Gandhinagarbased on CLAT score. Aspirants need to take part in CLAT admission process .After they clear the written test students have to participate in the counselling process.There are total 100 seats in aggregate for all categories. 18 additional seats are for foreign nationals. These candidates need to apply for CLAT exam as a NRI/NRI sponsored candidate and they will be offered admission basis CLAT merit list.

2.2 For Postgraduate LL.M

For Indian Nationals either B.A. LL.B., B.Com LL.B, B.Sc. LL.B, BBA LL.B., B.Tech LL.B., B.L.S. LL.B., LL.B. degree is must. The eligibility criteria for LLM course admissions for Foreign Nationals is such that admission will be offered if candidates possess LLB or an equivalent law degree with 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.This criterion is for all the candidates. There are total 80 seats for this course.

2.3 For Postgraduate Diploma in Law

Interested candidates can apply online/ offline with required information. Eligible candidates will be called for personal interview based on academic record.Candidates are selected based on academic record and performance in personal interview.60percentage is based on academic record and 40% is based on personal interview.

Application Process: Aspirants need to visit the official website of CLAT to fill the application form. CLAT application form needs to be filled online itself.

Admit Card: Candidates can download the admit card for CLAT exam from the official website of the national level law entrance exam.
Admission Cycle: The application process for CLAT exam usually commences in the month of January/February each year.

3. GNLU Eligibility

3.1. For BA LLB (Hons):

Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 45% marks.As per the 2017 rules, there is no age bar for admission.She/he is not eligible for admission if they do not clear their qualifying examination with the required marks. Candidates, whose marks sheets of the qualifying examination are not produced at the time of formal interviews carried by the university are also not eligible for admission.

3.2. For LLM :

For Indian Nationals either B.A. LL.B., B.Com LL.B, B.Sc. LL.B, BBA LL.B., B.Tech LL.B., B.L.S. LL.B., LL.B. degree is must. The eligibility criteria for LLM course admissions for Foreign Nationals is such that admission will be offered if candidates possess LLB or an equivalent law degree with 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. 3.3.Post Graduate Diploma:

Candidate must be a graduate from a recognized university.

Within the given 156 seats for LLB  & LLM, women will be allotted 30% seats, PWD will be given 5% seats and 25% seats will be allotted to Gujarat Domicile students.
