AILET-2024 cut-off and Analysis

AILET 2024 was conducted on 10th December 2023 and the provisional answer key was released on the 11th December,The present article critically analyse the paper covering various aspects like number of good attempts,difficulty level,expected cut-off etc.

OVERALL ANALYSIS:

Part Section No. of Qs Good Attempts Difficulty Level
A English Language 50 40+ Moderate
B Logical Reasoning 70 50+ Moderate
C Current Affairs & General Knowledge 30 21+ Easy to Moderate
Overall Good Attempts*: 110+ Moderate

The AILET (2024) is similar to the pattern of AILET (2022). Since the exam duration is increased to 2 hours, the accuracy level may go up as the time available per question is more, or the total number of questions attempted may go up too. Abhyaasis who were prepared for all types of papers, found it a comfortable one.
English section is passage heavy. Logical Reasoning had mixed type of questions Paragraph oriented, Syllogisms etc. It witnessed a few fact and principle type questions. Topics from eclectic areas.

SECTIONAL ANALYSIS:

A. English(50):

The English section was entirely RC-based similar to CLAT 2022. The English section had 7 passages. The word limit of the passages varied from around 200 to around 450. The passages were readable. The number of questions per passage varied from 5 to 10. English witnessed a touch of critical reasoning question types like statement based, cause and effect, strengthening and weakening. A couple grammar concept based questions were asked, which requires fundamentals. Contextual vocabulary, Tone, Main Idea, Inferred and Information oriented questions were asked. A sequence of events question type reminded of Parajumbles concepts.
The trick was to pick the right passages and solve as many questions as possible. ALPians who have practiced AILET mocks which prepared them for diverse patterns and unpredictability must have nailed it.

B. Logical Reasoning (70)

The logical reasoning section was a mix of Analytical Reasoning (23), Critical Reasoning (36) and Legal reasoning (11) based questions. Analytical included syllogisms, coding/decoding, and arrangements. Logical included mostly inference-based paragraphs. One passage based question set on logical is also given. Legal concept based and principle fact based questions were asked. ALPians who have practised different question types would have been comfortable. This section was time-consuming due to high levels of concentration needed. Familiarity with all aspects of reasoning is an advantage.

C. Current Affairs General Knowledge(30):

This section had a mix of Static and Current affairs with questions from Polity, International Affairs, Business, Sports, Geography, Awards, Science & Technology. Questions were predominantly from familiar topics and ALPians who have followed GK banks and exercises would have aced this section. Overall an easy section.
