CLAT 2016 Analysis

* The difficulty level of a section is assessed as a function of both the toughness of questions as well as deviation from the expected pattern. This analysis is based on the memory of ALPians. We will update as and when we have more information

Sectional Analysis:

1. English & Comprehension:

This section was the easiest in this year’s CLAT. There were no surprises in this section. Foreign words and
spellings were very simple. The RC passage has many direct questions. Grammar was also easy. Time-consuming
para jumbles were conspicuously absent. The rough distribution is:

2. Logical Reasoning:

This section had critical reasoning questions from familiar concepts but in an unusual pattern. Analytical
reasoning questions were straightforward and easy. Overall the section is easier than earlier years but still a
time consuming one among this year’s sections.

3. Legal Aptitude:

This section saw a resurgence of legal reasoning with at least 70% questions of the section. Most questions had straightforward options and hence easy for any serious CLAT aspirant aka ALPian. Legal GK was also on expected lines with questions from Constitution and Polity.

4. Mathematics:

This was the most time-consuming section of the year with many calculation intensive questions. But with lot of time to spare, ALPians would have attempted the good number of questions.

5. General Knowledge:

This year current affairs were the flavour of the GK section. After many years students would have attempted more than 40 questions in this section confidently. ALPians would have handled this section with absolute comfort.
