The CLAT consortium has announced the dates for CLAT 2021 UG and PG. Also, some information for students about exam centers and timings is shared.
As states are in unlock phase, the Consortium has finally announced the CLAT 2021 exam date. The exam is on Friday, July 23rd, 2021. The CLAT hasn’t stuck to its traditional Sundays, which is a good sign. Waiting for a Sunday exam date that doesn’t clash with other major entrance exams might have taken it much farther.
Initially, the last date for application was on March 31st, and the exam on May 9th. However, with the rising cases of the pandemic, the application date was postponed multiple times. As June 15th is the latest last date for applications, every aspirant is anxiously waiting for the updated information. To their relief finally, the date is announced.

It was initially announced that CLAT 2021 will be a paper-based exam. But, with the lockdown, there was a dilemma if the exam would be in an online mode. In 2020 CLAT was conducted online. So, that added to the doubts if CLAT 2021 would also be in an online format. CLAT 2021 UG pattern is predominantly passage-based. Students who are not very comfortable with online reading might finally be relieved as it is now Pen and Paper-based.
The consortium has mentioned that to help candidates avoid long travel, students will be given a chance to revisit their preference of test centers after the last date of submission of the filled-in application. They may as far as possible adjust the first or second preference of test centers. However, students are advised to check the official portal regularly.
As of now, June 15th is the last date for submission of the CLAT 2021 application. Aspirants should complete the payment process, submit the application and keep a copy of their CLAT 2021 application form for future reference. Students who have already submitted applications, check your application form once again. Also, check your application login for any information on your portal, before the last date of submission.
Check your admit card and official portal for exam time. The CLAT 2021 exam is currently announced to be from 2 pm to 4 pm. This is different from 2019 or before that. Students need to be cautious to note that.
Once the admit card is released, students should study all guidelines carefully. Will they give Pens? Should students carry their own? JEE mains has allowed transparent pens. Sanitizers may be a norm nowadays for all exams. Should students wear gloves to exam centers? Are the students going to get new masks at exam centers to avoid malpractice? Will they be asked to report at a specific time to avoid crowds? More details are yet to be released.
The pandemic has changed the guidelines for the exams.
Hopefully, all states and cities come in full UNLOCK mode by then. May governments provide the necessary support to students, while they focus only on their CLAT.
For now, students taking CLAT 2021 may gear up for the final lap of their preparation.
