Army Institute of Law is a public law Schools situated at the joyful city of Mohali, Punjab. The Army Institute of Law offers similar law programs at both undergraduate and post graduate level. It is affiliated to Punjab University, Patiala and approved by Army Welfare Education Society.

2. Courses Offered

Army Institute of Law , Mohali offers undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs to candidates. Courses offered at AIL include– BA LLB (Hons), LLM. The admission process shall start after the declaration of the result of the final year by the Punjabi University. The admission process shall be subject to the publication of the advertisement by the Punjabi University.

2.1 For B.A, LL.B (Hons.)

Candidates can secure admission in courses offered AIL Mohali based on AIL score. Aspirants need to take part in AIL entrance test admission process .After they clear the written test students have to participate in the counselling process. There are total 80 seats in aggregate for all categories.
• Admission to 60 seats are for wards from army personnel through entrance test.
• Admission to 4 seats are from All India category from AIL test.
• 16 seats for Punjab category will be based on 10+2 merit.

2.2 For Postgraduate LL.M

The eligibility criteria for LLM course admissions for all the candidates is such that admission will be offered if they possess LLB or an equivalent law degree with 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam. There are total 15 seats for this course. Admissions are totally based on merit.

3. AIL Eligibility

3.1. For BA LLB (Hons):

Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 45% marks.As per the 2017 rules, there is no age bar for admission.She/he is not eligible for admission if they do not clear their qualifying examination with the required marks. Candidates, whose marks sheets of the qualifying examination are not produced at the time of formal interviews carried by the university are also not eligible for admission.
Candidates passing the compartment exams will not be eligible for admission.

3.2. For LLM (One year):

LLB or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability); the candidates appearing in final LLB examination in April/May 2018 can also apply
Admissions are totally based on merit.

4.1 B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Program
