1. Overview

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU Trichy), formerly Tamil Nadu National Law School (TNNLS), is a state university and law school located at Navalurkottapattu, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 2012 by the Government of Tamil Nadu through the Tamil Nadu National Law School Act, 2012.

2.1 B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.)

The regular, full time programme is based on the semester pattern. It is spread through ten semesters which encompasswide ranging activities such as research projects, moot court exercises, inter-disciplinary lectures and compulsory internships upon completion of which the degree is awarded.

2.2 LL. M.

TNNLU currently offers the LL. M. programme in three streams: Corporate and Securities Laws, Intellectual Property Laws, and Natural Resources Laws
The programme is a regular, full time, intensive and based on semester pattern.

2.3 Ph. D.

TNNLU also offers a full-time Ph. D. program.

3. ELIGIBILITY

3.1 B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.)

TNNLU is governed by CLAT notification as regards eligibility criteria. Applying candidates must have completed their 10+2 in their first attempt, with an aggregate of not less than 50%. (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates and persons with disability). There is no age limit.
Foreign nationals will have to apply directly to the university.

3.2 LL. M.

Admission is on the basis marks obtained through the CLAT (PG). Also, applicants must have completed the three- or five-year LL.B. or any equivalent program with not less than 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST students).

3.3 Ph. D. Program

Applicants must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in the qualifying examination, or an equivalent grade in the grading system. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes shall be entitled to get relaxation of 5% of marks or a relaxation of corresponding grade in the CGPA.
They must have also passed the TNNLU Trichy Admission Test. (Candidates who possess national/state research fellowship with committed financial assistance at the time of seeking admission, in any of the national/state level eligibility tests conducted by the agencies so recognized by the TNNLU for the purpose, or passed UGC Lectureship Examination, are exempted from this provision)

4. FEE STRUCTURE

4.1 B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) / B.Com. LL.B. (Hons.)

The total fee for the first year for both the available courses is Rs. 2,23,000/- (Rs.2,17,000 for SC and ST students) and Rs. 2,22,000/- for the subsequent years
