1. Overview

The West Bengal National University of Juridical Science (WBNUJS), Kolkata compromises degree, diploma and certificate courses at the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctorate (PhD) level in legal education.The Chief Justice of India is both the Chancellor of NUJS as well as the Chairman of the General Council. He is the supreme policy-maker of the University.

WBNUJS offers an undergraduate B.A. or B.Sc. degree with an LL.B. For Masters students, WBNUJS offers an LL.M. and an M.Phil. Doctoral students can opt for Ph.D.s and LL.D.s. Admission is through online counseling based on the rank obtained in CLAT.

3. NALSAR Eligibility

3.1. For BA LLB (Hons)

Each year, the eligibility criteria will be determined by the Consortium of National Law Universities. Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an examination equivalent are eligible for the Five Year Undergraduate B.A./B.Sc.-LL.B. Programme. Admission is solely based on performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

3.2. For LLM

A candidate with an LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination may apply for the LLM Program. Admission to this programme is solely based on performance in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). The CLAT Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) allocates seats based on the CLAT Examination Merit List. Any vacant seats remaining after the first round of admissions are filled by the University from applications received on the basis of the CLAT Examination Merit List.

3.3.For PhD

WBNUJS offers three research programs: M. Phil, PhD and LL.D.
