SLAT 2020 Exam Analysis & SLAT 2020 Cut Off

SLAT 2020 Exam Analysis :

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test – 2020 (SLAT 2020) Exam was conducted from 26-28th July 2020, in an online remote (home) proctored manner this year, owing to the ongoing pandemic. The number of questions were reduced from 150 to 75 MCQs this year, with 15 questions across each of the 5 sections, to be completed in 75 minutes. Unlike earlier years, this year the WAT section was included along with the SLAT-2020 exam itself, and students were given another 30 minutes for this  task. Marking scheme remained the same, with no negative marking.

SLAT 2020 Exam Analysis: Difficulty Level & Good Scores

* The difficulty level of a section is assessed as a function of both the toughness of questions as well as deviation from the expected pattern.

 

SLAT 2020 Exam Analysis – Sectional Wise:

1. Reading Comprehension:

SLAT-2020 Reading Comprehension section was predictable with 3 passages having 5 questions each. Most of the questions were direct ones. Overall this section was Easy to Moderate.

2. Legal Reasoning:

SLAT-2020 Legal Reasoning section was Easy to Moderate. The focus was majorly on Legal Reasoning, with only around 3 assertion- reason questions based on Legal Knowledge. There were around 5-7 fact-based questions with principles and another 3-5 fact based question without principles.

3. Logical Reasoning:

SLAT-2020 Logical Reasoning section had familiar critical reasoning questions like strong and weak arguments, syllogisms, assertion- reasons etc. There were a few analytical reasoning type questions as well. The topics varied across the days, with more AR on some days; but the level of questions was similar. Overall it was an Easy section. This section was mostly on expected lines. Questions were a mix of Arrangement & Puzzles, Series, Blood relations, Coding/Decoding and a few questions from Mathematics, similar to the last few years. Overall ALPians found this section Easy.

4. Analytical Reasoning:

SLAT-2020 Analytical Reasoning section was mostly on expected lines. Questions were a mix of Arrangement & Puzzles, Series, Blood relations, Coding/Decoding and a few questions from Mathematics, similar to the last few years. Overall ALPians found this section Easy.

5. General Knowledge:

SLAT-2020 General Knowledge section was a mix of both Current Affairs and Static GK questions. Questions were from different topics like awards, Govt schemes, defence etc. ALP students who were thorough with the monthly GK banks/Newsboard should have been able to manage the current affairs fairly well. Overall it was a Moderate section on all days.

SLAT- 2020 Written Ability Test (WAT)

Students had 30 mins for this section, and had an option to choose from two given topics. Some of the topics were related to Women Empowerment, Fake News, Privacy & Data Protection, Vizag gas Leak & Corporate Social Responsibility etc. This section will be evaluated only for those students who clear the cut offs.
