SLAT 2023 EXAM NOTIFICATION

OVERVIEW:
About SLAT Symbiosis Law Admission Test, also known as SLAT, is the national-level Entrance test for UG law courses. It is a University Level test conducted for admissions to BA LLB and BBA LLB programs in colleges/institutions affiliated with Symbiosis International Deemed University (SIU). The participating universities are Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Symbiosis Law School, Noida, Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad, and
Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur. Until 2017 SIU conducted a common written entrance exam called SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) to offer admission to an undergraduate program. Nevertheless, in 2018 they started separate entrance tests for law courses, i.e. SLAT. The total Available seats are 1080, and the Mode of the exam is Online.

SLAT ELIGIBILITY

Candidates applying for SLAT 2023 should meet the qualification measures of the course prior to filling the application. Applicants who don’t meet the qualification rules won’t be considered for admission regardless of whether they clear the test. The subtleties of the qualification rules are referenced down.

  • Educational Qualification- The candidate presumably passed Class 12 or a comparable assessment from a recognized board.
  • They probably got somewhere almost 45% (40% for SC and ST up-and-comers) marks in the Class twelfth/identical examination.

SLAT 2023 Exam Pattern

SLAT examination will be conducted in the morning hours only and the language of attempt will only be English language. The exam duration is 1-hour and 30 minutes. Only ‘Objective type questions will be asked in the exam. Applicants getting ready for SLAT 2023 ought to know about the test design. The test will be directed on the web, PC-based test mode. There will be 60 questions, each getting one mark. Further, there is no negative marking. Complete know-how on test design is given below.
There are 60 questions for 60 marks. Writing Ability Test (WAT) follows after the objective test for about 30 minutes. The WAT exam will be evaluated by the institute & program instructors that the student has opted for. WAT scores will not be printed on the SLAT Scorecard.
Negative marking is not applicable. This means students can confidently attempt all the questions.
The subjects which are tested in the examination include English, General knowledge, legal aptitude, logical reasoning and elementary mathematics.

6. SLAT SYLLABUS

Section 1-English and Comprehension:This section comprises questions in the areas of Comprehension passages, Synonyms, Antonyms, Choosing correct words, Idioms and phrases, Jumble words and sentences, and Inference based questions. An excellent vocabulary and speed in reading will help the candidates do well in this section. Proficiency in English will be tested.

Section 2 -General Knowledge and Current Affairs:This section contains questions on your general awareness of what is happening in the world during the last year, emphasising India and static general knowledge. It includes History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and Current Affairs.

Section 3-Mathematics:This section contains questions based on your knowledge of elementary mathematics taught in school up to Class X. It includes questions from Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, etc.

Section 4 -Legal Aptitude:The Legal aptitude section consists of questions in the areas of Study of law, Research aptitude and Problem-solving ability. Vicarious Liability, Torts, Law of Crimes, Strict Liability, IPC and CrPC are other vital topics.

Section 5-Logical Reasoning:The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test your ability to identify patterns, and logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It includes various critical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences and arguments. Various arrangements, blood relations-based puzzles and analogies are in this section.
