  • CLAT EXAM DATE: 18th December 2022
  • No. of Questions: 150
  • Time: 120 minutes

OVERALL EXAM INPUTS

The paper is both moderately difficult and extremely long. It was longer and moderately more difficult than the previous year’s paper. Although expected, this year’s paper is still tougher than previous years.

CLAT 2023 consisted of 150 questions to be answered in 120 minutes. Given the paper’s difficulty level, the negative marking scheme may act as a deterrent this year.

PAPER ANALYSIS

According to the examination of CLAT question papers from the previous three years by experts and candidates, the exam was considered to be fairly challenging with a few difficult problems. Furthermore, only two sections—Legal Reasoning and Current Affairs & General Knowledge—had the most surprising questions.

English Language :

The English section contained 30 questions based on six passages, the majority of which were simple but some of which were difficult. The questions were simple and contextual. The majority of the RC questions revolved around the passage’s tone, inferences, central idea, and so on. The remaining questions dealt with idioms, phrases, and grammatical concepts.

English was longer and slightly more difficult than last year, but it was doable and easy to moderate. Aiming for 25-27 is a good start, and a good score could be around 20-21.

The section was strange and mild. A total of 20-21 questions attempted is a good attempt, and a good score could be around 15-16.
