How to Prepare for LSAT India

LSAT India is a standardized test of reading and verbal reasoning skills designed by the USA-based Law School Admission Council (LSAC) for use by law schools in India for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate legal courses in India. Pearson VUE conducts the exam on behalf of LSAC every year. It is a standardized test designed to test a candidate’s verbal reasoning and reading skills proficiency. Nearly 76 law colleges accept LSAT India Scores.

LSAT India is designed to test a candidate’s reading and reasoning skills, skills which are required for a legal education.

The test encompasses three question types which are covered across 4 sections. There are two logical reasoning sections, one reading comprehension section, and one analytical reasoning section. Each section is allotted 35 minutes, and the questions are in multiple choice format.

Here’s how you can prepare for the test:

  • Get familiar with the kinds of questions. At the early stages, it is not necessary to work in time-bound conditions.
  • Analyse your performance, try and figure out the areas in which you made mistakes. For practice questions, you may use the LSAT India website.
  • Then, move on to practicing under timed conditions. You could work on one section of a practice test, trying to stimulate an actual test condition as far as possible. Repeat this process with the other sections as well.
  • Aim for maximising accuracy. This may require attempting all questions or strategically leaving a few questions.
  • Since there is no negative marking, you could randomly bubble answers to questions you did not have time to solve properly. Since all questions have equal weightage, strategically decide which ones to attempt and in which order.
  • Since the exam does not require the memorisation of facts or formulae, preparation must mostly revolve around practicing reasoning and reading comprehension questions.
