ULSAT Exam 2022 NOTIFICATION

OVERVIEW:

UPES Legal Studies Aptitude Test or ULSAT is a university-level entrance examination that is conducted by a Dehradun Private University, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) for the admissions to the B.A LLB, BBA LLB and B.Com LLB programs.

UL-SAT ELIGIBILITY

For LLB Course

  • For BA & BBA LLB programs he/she must have acquired a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 examinations
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board for the integrated five-year course and for the three-year course he/she must hold a graduate or postgraduate degree from any recognized institution in any stream.

For LLM Course

  • The candidates must have a minimum of 55% marks in LLB or in its equivalent degree for GEN/OBC candidates (50% for SC/ST candidates).

UL-SAT EXAM PATTERN

  • UL-SAT examination will be conducted in the online mode and the language of the attempt will only be the English language.
  • The exam duration is 2.5 hours.
  • ‘Objective type questions will be asked in the exam and no negative marking will be given to wrong answers.
  • There are 150 questions in the test which total up to 150 marks
  • The marking scheme for this exam is such that for every correct answer one mark will be awarded.
  • The subjects which are tested in the examination include English, General knowledge, Quantitative and Numerical ability, logical reasoning, and Legal Aptitude.

UL-SAT SYLLABUS:

Section 1- Language Comprehension: This section comprises questions predominantly in the areas of Comprehension passages with one-word substitution, synonyms, reading comprehension, spellings, idioms, vocabulary, the figure of speech, phrases, legal terms, Sentence formation/correction, etc. A very good vocabulary and speed in reading will help the candidates do well in this section. Proficiency in English will be basically tested.

Section 2 -General Knowledge: This section contains questions on your general awareness of what is happening in the world during the last year, with an emphasis on India and static general knowledge. It includes History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, and Current Affairs.

Section 3- Quantitative and Numerical ability: This section contains questions based on your knowledge of basic mental ability, Agreement, and Disagreement, Logical/ Mathematical Analysis, Series, Analogies, Blood relations, Deductive reasoning, Odd-Even discretions, Figure, patterns, etc.

Section 4 Current Affairs: The Current Affairs section consists of questions in the areas of events happening around the world. Questions will be on regional, national and international topics.

Section 5- Legal Aptitude: The Legal aptitude section consists of questions in the areas of Study of law, Research aptitude, and Problem-solving ability. Vicarious Liability, Torts, Law of Crimes, Strict Liability, IPC, CrPC, Legal Maxims, Indian Constitution, Important Acts and Amendments of the Legislature, Important Supreme Court Judgments, etc.

5. How to Apply?

  • Online Registration: Candidates must create an account using their email ID and register. Later choose a password for their account.
  • Upload Documents: Students should submit a copy of the statement of marks of Class 10, Class 11/ 12.
  • Scan and upload a recent passport-size photograph (3.5 cms x 4.5 cms formal dress with white background).
  • Application Fee: UL-SAT exam application fee is 1350/- which has to be paid via online mode through internet payment/net banking/credit card/debit card/ offline.

6. Selection Process:

The UL-SAT Selection process includes Entrance Test (ET), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). The Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) will be for candidates shortlisted on the basis of the entrance exam. The candidates have to appear in the same at different venues – Lucknow, Mumbai, Delhi, Patna, Jaipur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Dehradun, and Chandigarh. E- Admit Card will be provided to the qualified candidates to attend GD and PI.
