AILET 2016 analysis

All India Law Entrance Test also called as AILET is the national level entrance examination that is conducted for the admissions to the B.A LLB programs in colleges/institution affiliated by National Law University, Delhi. The exam is conducted in the offline mode. Negative marking is applicable since 2017.

* The difficulty level of a section is assessed as a function of both the toughness of questions as well as deviation from the expected pattern.

Sectional Analysis:

1. English :

This section was fairly easy. The passage was simple with questions based on the understanding of the passage. Fair share of vocabulary in the form of word usage, odd one out and even cloze test. Grammar questions were regular ones with fill in the blanks as well as vocab-based ones identifying parts of speech.

2. General Knowledge :

The GK section had mostly Current affairs with only 10 questions on Static GK including Economics and science. Students who were regularly following the news and understanding the implications of various schemes and bills would have found this section a cake-walk. Overall, this was an easy to moderate section.

3.Legal Aptitude

This section had only 12 Principle-based questions out of which 8 were on Const. Law. The Legal GK questions were primarily based on current affairs. So not time-consuming but dependent on awareness of current affairs. Overall an easy to moderate section.

4. Logical Reasoning

This was the toughest section this year because of unfamiliar questions – definitely true/probably true as well as facts and interpretations. Statement-based questions were of moderate difficulty. Time-consuming with 3 sets of puzzles. Overall moderate section.

5. Mathematics

This was an easy section. Students who had practiced the various concepts would have done this fairly well.
